March in Helsinki has been buzzing with events, from the celebration of the cinema’s 97th anniversary to the Fun Design Market, so much so that I dedicated a separate blog post to each to highlight them. My most recent share featured Finland’s iconic Mignon Eggs at Fazer Café, a sweet way to welcome the upcoming Easter season.
Yet, beyond these public festivities, this March has held some personal celebrations close to my heart. It’s been a month of delightful discovery, marked by two major revelations: falling in love with a new literary genre and finding that perfect coffee bean that matches my tastes.
Celebrating the Joy of Poetry

Both fiction and nonfiction have been my literary comfort zones. I’ve always appreciated literature, but poetry always felt elusive. It was either difficult to grasp or just a bit too cringe-worthy for my liking. But all of that changed unexpectedly when I stumbled upon IN-Q’s poetry featured in Your Brain on Art. Suddenly, poems made sense. They resonated, sparked joy, and awakened an excitement in my heart that I didn’t anticipate. Discovering poetry feels like opening a hidden door in a familiar house, revealing a whole new room of stories waiting to be explored. Since then, I crave more of this genre. Each poem inviting deeper contemplation and richer emotional connections. This newfound love is definitely worth celebrating.
Celebrating the Perfect Coffee Bean

Coffee culture in Helsinki is vibrant, diverse, and full of delightful surprises. I’ve been exploring it for a while, tasting various beans without ever truly pinpointing a favorite. Until this March.

Everything shifted when I discovered “El Puente,” a coffee bean by Good Life Roastery, available at Savy Kahvila. The first time I brewed it using my trusty Aeropress, the very first sip felt magical. I could imagine myself almost cartoon-like, complete with imaginary fireworks illuminating my senses. Notes of candied apple, sweet caramel, and rich chocolate harmonized flawlessly, crafting an unforgettable flavor. It’s safe to say this coffee bean has officially earned a special place in my heart.
March 2025 has been truly memorable, marked by the beauty of unexpected discoveries. From poetry that finally speaks my language to a coffee bean that sings perfectly to my taste buds, this month was indeed a celebration of life’s small yet profoundly joyful moments.
