After reading the book title, I believe that some of you will think that this book is all about economy, investing, trading psychology, and other sub topic related to those kind of things. Surprisingly, this book is much more than those.
What is in this book?
Di buku ini, Wuddy Warsono membahas keluarga, pendidikan, meniti karir, memilih lingkungan bergaul, perjalanan hidup yang menginpirasi, hingga hal yang sangat relate dengan masa sekarang, yakni hidup di era new normal.
Buku karya Wuddy Warsono ini adalah kombinasi genre buku terbaik dan favorit versi aku: self-help, motivation, dan biography. Kebetulan aku juga sedang tertarik belajar tentang investing, sehingga buku ini sangat menjawab kebutuhanku. Semua ada dalam satu buku dan disampaikan dengan ringan dan mengalir tanpa pemaksaan cocokologi. So refreshing and fullfiling.
Tidak hanya dari perjalanan hidup yang ia alami, Wuddy Warsono juga terinspirasi dari berbagai Ted Talk dan buku yang banyak beliau kutip. Setelah selesai membaca, I have a list of recommended books to buy and Ted Talk to watch/listen.
What have I learned from this book?
I learned about 399 the Grizzly Bear and what infanticide is. From Grizzly Bear, we could learn that riskiest place is maybe the safest place. Selain itu, Wuddy Warsono mengajak pembaca belajar esensi menjadi seorang value investor dari Grizzly Bear yang memilih untuk menunda hibernasi agar bisa menikmati sisa hasil hewan buruan dari para pemburu tanpa perlu repot bersaing dengan beruang lain.
Wuddy Warsono summarised a hyped korean drama, then linked it to an enterpreneurship theory, next jump into his journey in Silicon Valley, and closed the chapter with a motivational quotes.
Nowadays, we are frequently listen about work-life balance. Wuddy Warsono mengenalkanku dengan satu istilah baru, yaitu work-life presence. Sesuatu yang mungkin lebih kita butuhkan dibandingkan work-life balance.
There are countless inspirations and interesting perspectives that I learn from this book.
Why I love this book?
From this book, I can feel that Wuddy Warsono is a really smart person. I am stunned by how he told his life story then brought it into something that I could read in a self-help book or motivation book then he linked it into investing style. And, may I call Wuddy as Mr. Conjunction? He wrote everything smoothly, not a single awkward in between of the paragraph. Wuddy Warsono was like a college professor that I wouldn’t mind sit and listen to him for five hours of class.Unconsciously, he made me widen my horizon in an exciting way.
Mungkin belum banyak buku non fiksi berbahasa Indonesia yang (tertarik) ku baca, tapi buku karya Wuddy Warsono yang satu ini is on top of my highly recommended Indonesian books.
A little side note, I loooooove the cat illustrations at most of the chapters :3.
